I've been published again! 20 years after my first book got published (by West End Games), I have contributed an essay to A More Civilized Age: Exploring the Star Wars Expanded Universe.

Well, Jason Salazar and I (with the assistance of Stephanie Whigham, Jim Woodbury, Krista Warner, Tyler Savin, and Lorie Goulart) participated in the latest San Jose 48hr Film Project on 4/7-4/9.

Unfortunately due to a combination of bad time management and slow rendering, our 48-hour movie came in at 48 and a half hours.

So, we've posted the video to Youtube for all to see.

I'm pretty happy with the turnout, in addition to co-writing and co-directing the short, I did the special visual effects and...

In addition to the graphic design and animation (in After Effects CS5), this clip features my very first (incredibly crude) musical composition (done in Stagelight, which I've learned is not really the best way to do these things).

Expect more (and better) music from me in the future!

I just realized I never talked about a project I did before this site existed.

In 2014, the outlandishly popular podcast, Serial, focused on the the murder of teenager Hae Min Lee, and her ex-boyfriend Adnan Syed, who was convicted (perhaps wrongly) of the crime.

Hey all. Last night we premiered our entry into the 48 Hour Film Project, Stygian Outpost, to great response.

We pulled "Sci Fi" as our genre, and had to comform to the following requirements:

• Character: Hal or Hannah Trendetto, Science Teacher

• Prop: an hour glass

• Line: "Where did he go?" (or "Where'd he go?")

From that moment we had 48 hours to write, shoot, edit, etc a complete short film.
