And you have. People have been donating via PayPal and volunteering their time and energy for when we're eventually allowed back into the building to start repairing the damage from the flood.
It's been an emotional week for everyone involved with Northside and Oleanna.
San Jose Stage Company has donated their space next Friday and Saturday (March 3 & 4) to Northside so that we may give Oleanna a final send-off with two special performances to end our run.
This is truly an incredible and generous response from San Jose Stage, and we are in their debt.
This means so much to Northside, not only will we be able to recoup some of the losses that cancelling the run of Oleanna caused, it shows a stronger bond between Bay Area theatres that I've been hoping to see for a long time now.
As some of you may know (I'm probably writing this for an audience of one... Hi Mom), I've recently taken on the responsibility of Social Media Manager for Northside. Part of this, I believe, should be in cross-promoting and supporting other theatre companies in the Bay Area (which I've been doing on Twitter, to the surprise of some of those companies, it would seem). There's no need for us to be in competition with each other.
San Jose Stage's actions toward Northside in the wake of the flood show that spirit of camaraderie perfectly.
